Il componente ASP Browser Capabilities crea un oggetto BrowserType che determina il tipo, le capacità e il numero di versione del browser di un visitatore.
Quando un browser si connette a un server, al server viene inviata anche un'intestazione User Agent. Questa intestazione contiene informazioni sul browser.
L'oggetto BrowserType confronta le informazioni nell'intestazione con le informazioni in un file sul server chiamato "Browscap.ini".
Se c'è una corrispondenza tra il tipo di browser e il numero di versione nell'intestazione e le informazioni nel file "Browscap.ini", l'oggetto BrowserType può essere utilizzato per elencare le proprietà del browser corrispondente. Se non c'è corrispondenza per il tipo di browser e il numero di versione nel file Browscap.ini, imposterà ogni proprietà su "SCONOSCIUTO".
