Oggetto Recordset
L'oggetto Recordset ADO viene utilizzato per contenere un insieme di record da una tabella di database. Un oggetto Recordset è costituito da record e colonne (campi).
In ADO, questo oggetto è il più importante e quello utilizzato più spesso per manipolare i dati da un database.

Quando si apre un Recordset per la prima volta, il puntatore al record corrente punterà al primo record e le proprietà BOF ed EOF sono false. Se non sono presenti record, le proprietà BOF ed EOF sono True.
Gli oggetti Recordset possono supportare due tipi di aggiornamento:
- Aggiornamento immediato : tutte le modifiche vengono scritte immediatamente nel database dopo aver chiamato il metodo Update.
- Aggiornamento batch : il provider memorizzerà nella cache più modifiche e quindi le invierà al database con il metodo UpdateBatch.
In ADO sono definiti 4 diversi tipi di cursore:
- Cursore dinamico : consente di visualizzare aggiunte, modifiche ed eliminazioni da parte di altri utenti.
- Cursore keyset: simile a un cursore dinamico, tranne per il fatto che non è possibile visualizzare le aggiunte di altri utenti e impedisce l'accesso ai record eliminati da altri utenti. Le modifiche ai dati da parte di altri utenti saranno ancora visibili.
- Cursore statico : fornisce una copia statica di un recordset da utilizzare per trovare dati o generare report. Aggiunte, modifiche o eliminazioni da parte di altri utenti non saranno visibili. Questo è l'unico tipo di cursore consentito quando si apre un oggetto Recordset sul lato client.
- Cursore solo in avanti : consente di scorrere solo in avanti nel recordset. Aggiunte, modifiche o eliminazioni da parte di altri utenti non saranno visibili.
Il tipo di cursore può essere impostato dalla proprietà CursorType o dal parametro CursorType nel metodo Open.
Nota: non tutti i provider supportano tutti i metodi o le proprietà dell'oggetto Recordset.

EOF | Returns true if the current record position is after the last record, otherwise false |
